Help Sophie's Urgent Surgery Fund

  • Trying to upload all vet receipts but can only do one at a time a day so will take me a few days but working on it. Not tech savvy with this site.
  • UPDATE: After 9 hours and $1300 at emergency vet mass on spleen confirmed plus enlarged lymph nodes so suspect lymphoma and hemangiosarcoma. Opted out of surgery as it would only extend her life 3 months. I don't want to put her through all that. We are doing comfort care and pain management and will help her cross when it is time. Day by day for now. We will use peacefully at hometo help her pass here at home. She helped my last dog cross over and it was very peaceful. This service and cremation will be another $800 approximately. I will post ER receipts and peacefully at home estimate. Anyone who wants a refund let me know and I will gladly refund. Otherwise your donations will help keep her comfortable and help her pass at home in peace surrounded by love.

  • Meet Sophie. She is a rescue and a senior chiweenie. She is a very sweet girl. Saved her from going to the shelter about 8 months ago. She was in pain and unable to sleep or get comfortable and I felt a lump on her tummy so we took her to emergency vet and had an ultrasound and discovered she had a 7 1/2 centimeter mass on her spleen. She got pain meds and a referral to Loomis Basin for specialized ultrasound and surgery. The pain meds not helping and she can't wait for June 27th appt so called to get her in on emergency. The referral coordinator is a fantastic lady who was able to coordinate the ultrasound and the surgery consult for tomorrow, Friday 6/7/24. They are prepared to take her straight into surgery after seeing the first ultrasound from the first emergency visit. The estimate for a splenectomy surgery to remove this mass which could burst at any time causing her to bleed internally is $8,000 to $12,000. My care credit is maxed out trying to save my last rescue with 2 kinds of cancer. I am looking into a personal loan but I myself am 62 and in a wheelchair and working for minimum wage just to survive. I need help. Any and all help appreciated. I hate to have to ask but I would do anything to save my baby girl. I have another senior chihuahua in heart failure and was able to raise funds for his upcoming vet appt at UC Davis Animal Hospital for which I am grateful but this one is 8 times as much money and I just don't have it. I will provide estimate and reciepts as soon as I have them. I am an honest person. Please help my Sophie.
