My name is Jasmine, and I’m raising funds for my beautiful 13-year-old daughter, Sophie, who has shown incredible courage through years of serious health challenges.

When Sophie was just five years old, her autoimmune disease, uveitis — a condition where the body’s immune system causes severe inflammation inside the eye — was tragically misdiagnosed as conjunctivitis. By the time the correct diagnosis was made, Sophie had permanently lost all sight in her left eye. It was heartbreaking for our family, but Sophie continued to face life with strength and bravery beyond her years.

Now at 13, Sophie is experiencing another severe flare-up. Over the past six months, she has endured countless medical appointments, treatments, and emotional stress, while also suffering further significant vision loss. Despite everything she has been through, there has still been little improvement, and she is now preparing to begin yet another treatment plan in the hope of finally finding some relief.

As her mother, it is terrifying watching my daughter face the possibility of losing even more eyesight and struggling more with everyday life. Through it all, Sophie has remained incredibly strong, resilient, and positive.

I am raising funds to help cover the ongoing costs of Sophie’s medical care, including the frequent five-hour trips we must make to the city for her specialist appointments and treatments.
