Help Sophie Moon Live Her Best Life

One day I was scrolling through the Nextdoor app and I spotted this little face... And it was love. at. first. sight. OMG!
The ad said that "Joy" had a slight deformity in her right front leg since birth but other than that she was fine. I drove out to the breeder to meet her and was astonished to meet this highly energetic little Silver Labrador puppy running around on 3 legs.
I knew that she would need some work for the malformed leg and so we took her to the best orthopedic vet in our area for a diagnosis.

So, the short version is that her right front leg just never developed. So she has this stumpy baby limb that kind of just hangs there and gets in the way because it's totally inert.

The vet has recommended that we get it amputated as she'll be much happier without it because she does just fine on 3 legs.

However, the thing totally we didn't see coming was that her left front leg (the *good* leg) is a bit wobbly and unstable because her left shoulder is kind of 'floating' and disconnected from her body. This means is that she's not as strong on her good leg as she needs to be, especially as she's now almost 5 months and growing into a BIG DOG. So now we're in a bit of hurry to get the surgery done so she can heal as she continues to grow.

The good news is that her good leg is perfectly formed and the shoulder is a soft tissue problem that can easily be fixed with surgery. (Zero bone problems which is great news!)
Her recovery time will take a few weeks though and lots of patience. But the end result should be a feisty little tri-pawed puppy who'll be able to climb mountains and come hiking and do all the happy dog things with us.

Her first surgery (for the good shoulder) is at the end of August, the second surgery (for the amputation) will be approx. 2 months later so she gets ample recovery time.
She's super smart and loves training and playing sessions alike.
She loves the bath! A total water dog that can't wait to get into the tub.
Belly rubs are the best!
Sophie's serious look... She's incredibly resilient, tenacious and determined to live her best life!

We would be incredibly grateful for anything you can contribute to Sophie's rehabilitation. I have included the two quotes from the vet below. There may be extra expenses for doggie-wheel chair rental (for her recovery period) but those are unknown at the moment.

If we go over the target amount we'll donate the rest of the money to Canine Companions here in Santa Rosa.

I very appreciate anything you can donate to help me give this little girl the best chance at a happy life! :-)

*For transparency, see below for the two estimates for each surgery. The first one is for the amputation of the right leg, the second one is for the shoulder surgery that needs to happen first.

Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks from Sophie and me!!
