Help Sophie Join the 2025 IFR Dig in Romania

Hello! Buna! My name is Sophie, I’m a 24-year-old college graduate with plans to further my education in archaeology and anthropology.

I was recently accepted into an IFR (Institute for Field Research) archaeological dig for the summer of 2025 in Romania !! I am so excited for this opportunity. It is exactly what I need to do to further my educational and career goals.

The problem is that since I am already graduated from college, I am not eligible for many scholarship opportunities that meant for currently enrolled students. This has created a large financial barrier.

My bill to fund my travel, lodging, dig supplies, and further this program’s funding is due on April 12, 2025. That is not far away! All funds donated to this GoFundMe will be going directly to the outstanding bill to the IFR, which totals $5,250.00.

I am humbly requesting any financial assistance possible so that the financial barriers are lessened and I can focus primarily on this educational opportunity. I am so excited and grateful to be a part of this dig, and what it will mean for my future.
