Help Sophie go to her outpatient program
Donation protected
Hi, I am Kelly, Sophie's Mom!!
As many of you know, the last 4-5 months have been rough for Sophie. She has been in inpatient mental health treatment twice and has tried a couple outpatient programs that weren't a fit. She's also struggling with school and not having a good friend.
We finally found a program that seems perfect for her! It is a group that is 2 hrs in the afternoon, 2 days in person and online one day. This group focuses on kids like Sophie who are neurodivergent and need tools for social and emotional interactions. Friendship is encouraged there unlike the hospital programs she's been in. She had an interview last week and has been accepted. The therapist that interviewed her was the first person in this journey that seemed to really truly get Sophie and understand her. She also has lots of experience with Trans girls and made Sophie very comfortable. They are also helping us with Day program and school ideas, which have been the most promising and helpful we have had yet
Our insurance isn't covering this program unfortunately. There is no way we are turning this down for her. We all believe this is a great step for her. I know she has such a huge team of people who love her, believe in her, and want to help her. If you can help financially in any amount, we would appreciate it so much. If you can't help in that way, you can send her a picture, art, letter, or just share her story and this page with others.
We know we can do this together and give Sophie the love and motivation to keep going!
Thank you for loving her and helping her as you can!
