For almost 15 years, Sophie has been my constant companion. She will turn 15 on May 4th. She sleeps next to me every night, follows me wherever I go, and is my family. Even as a senior, she is full of life.
She still plays like a kitten, curls up beside me, and fills every room with her presence. Sophie is my whole heart. I can’t imagine a world where I can’t look into her eyes.
On December 11th, I noticed severe swelling and inflammation in her mouth, so I brought her to the vet. Since then, she has had multiple exams, bloodwork, and medications to try to manage her pain. Despite all of this, the inflammation has continued.
Her veterinary team has determined that she now urgently needs a full dental procedure with extractions. Her surgery is scheduled for March 3rd.
The estimate for the procedure alone is $2,806.40. Before this, I have already spent over $2,000 on exams, medications, and tests.
Her treatment plan includes a feline dental procedure, dental extractions, full radiographs, advanced wellness blood profile, SDMA testing, and take home medications. This surgery is not about prolonging her life. It is about relieving her pain so she can continue living the life she loves. Sophie is not fading. She just needs help to be comfortable again.
I don’t ask for help often, but I am asking now for her. Every contribution, big or small, brings her closer to comfort and many more peaceful nights together. If you cannot donate, sharing this page also helps so much.
Thank you for caring about Sophie.
