Hi, I’m Sophie, a trans woman from South Africa and I’m raising funds for my gender confirmation surgery (GCS). This surgery is essential for me to align my physical body with my true gender identity. It will significantly improve my mental health, alleviate the intense gender dysphoria I experience, and help me feel more comfortable and authentic in my own skin.

The genitals I have are incorrect, it’s not who I am.

Imagine having a body which feels like it’s not yours, knowing there is the possibility to have that changed.   With your support, I could have a body that is mine. One that is no longer a stranger to me, to be able to look in the mirror, and love myself, this is not possible with my current anatomy.

I look forward to the future living in the correct body, having had bottom surgery, and that future is brighter, it has hope.

Remaining like this is just not an option to have any quality of life, I could be happy, I could feel at home in my body.

This is something I've been wanting for years now, and delaying it any more is unbearable to even consider.

Unfortunately, the UK government has made it almost impossible to get the medical care needed, as waiting times for even an initial consultation is about 10 years now.

I've managed to save some money of my own that will go towards the surgery, but with the ever-increasing cost of living, it's becoming more and more difficult to save enough.
