Help Sophie get her wiggle butt back
Donation protected
On January 9th my Sophie was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor that needs to be removed. Sophie has saved my life more times than I can count and now it’s time to make sure she is as healthy as can be. Because the tumor is in a difficult spot (on her butt) my vet recommended we have a board certified surgeon take care of her. So on February 14th we will have it removed by Dr. Janet Welch at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Sturbridge.
I am a PhD candidate living on a graduate student stipend, so this is a huge unexpected expense for me. I’m expecting Sophie’s total medical expenses to be around $4,500 (on the high end of the estimate), including her diagnostic tests and surgery consult. Sophie has taken care of me for 7 years; now it is my turn - and my responsibility - to give her the best possible care so we can have many more years together.
Dr. Welch is confident in Sophie’s prognosis, and we are hoping that having the tumor removed will be the cure. Any amount you can give would be so greatly appreciated, I just want my little bug to be good as new. Thank you so much for reading!
