On November 18th 2021, I was diagnosed with triple-negative Grade 3 IDC breast cancer (this is the most aggressive and fastest-growing). So far, I have had a lumpectomy but need further treatment, which will be chemotherapy followed by a mastectomy. At this time, I really can't say what the future will hold. Due to my existing chronic conditions, my options for treatment are limited and difficult. However, I am due a mastectomy, and we are weighing up the risks of chemotherapy with the oncologist.
Before receiving a cancer diagnosis, I was already a wheelchair user and diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Raynaud's disease. Just three months ago, I had a hysterectomy for severe Endometriosis. These conditions leave me in a lot of pain and limit my mobility. Due to this, I am unable to work full-time employment. Being already weak from all of this, I feel like I am doomed to fight cancer, which scares me so much (especially during COVID times).
My partner works full time and is also my carer, so this is already a lot of extra work and stress for him physically, mentally, and financially. He does so much for me, and there is so little I can do in return. The cancer diagnosis hit us both so hard that it's difficult to describe the devastation and shock you experience, and it's not something that eases with time either.
Any help would make a massive difference to my partner and me, and it would mean the world to us to have less worry and stress during this unhappy time. If you can help, I appreciate it so much, but I would never wish for anyone to feel obligated to donate or give anything that would put them out of pocket. If you decide to contribute, know that you are making a massive difference in my life during such a terrifying period, and I am truly grateful. Thank you. <3
