My name is Sophie Blair, and I have been accepted into the High School Drama Institute at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. This is a summer musical theater intensive program where I will train in acting, voice, dance, and performance with professional instructors. This opportunity is incredibly important to me because I want to pursue musical theater seriously and continue building my skills as a performer. During the program, I will take part in daily training classes, workshops, rehearsals, and performances that help prepare students for college level theater programs and future careers in the performing arts. The program is residential, which means the cost includes tuition, housing on campus, and meals for the full session. The total cost is about $4,750, not including travel and additional expenses. As much as I would love to attend, this is a large financial commitment for my family. I am raising funds to help cover the cost of tuition and participation so I can take part in this amazing experience.
