Help Rebuild My Parents’ Home in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

Hi everyone,

My name is Sophia South-moses, and I’m reaching out for help after a heartbreaking loss. My parents’ home in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica was destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. The storm hit their community hard — roofs were ripped off, walls collapsed, and flooding ruined nearly everything inside. What used to be our family home is now in ruins.

My mom and dad are humble, hardworking people who have lived in St. Elizabeth all their lives. Their home wasn’t just a building — it was filled with memories, love, and the warmth of family gatherings. Losing it has been devastating. Many others in the community also suffered great loss, and resources are very limited.

I’m creating this GoFundMe to help rebuild their home, replace what little they have left, and provide them with basic essentials like food, clothing, and materials to start over.
