Help Sophia's Family During Her Cancer Fight

I don’t even know where to start. I never thought in a million years I would have to open a GoFundMe. It is hard to put all this feeling and this situation into words.

My beautiful daughter Sophia.

in January 2024, Sophia was complaining about tooth pain. I took her

to the dentist but her teeth were good. Dentist recommended go to the ER and let them know she may be having an infection and need antibiotics. After the hospital examined her and CT scan was done they discovered that she had an abscess in her right nasal cavity. She spent a week in CHOP with antibiotics. After a week and the swelling was down they sent her home with antibiotics.

April 2024, she was complaining about the same symptoms as before in January but with loss of appetite, no energy, headache, eye pain, cold. I decide to take her to the hospital again thinking the abscess was back and she needed antibiotics.

Sadly that wasn’t the case and the doctor told me they think it may be a tumor.

After a week of CT Scans, CATScans, xrays, blood work, MRI and biopsy. Tests showed that she has Ewing Sarcoma and it can’t be operated due to its location.

Ewing sarcoma is a type of cancer that begins as a growth of cells in the bones and the soft tissue around the bones.

She will be getting 14 rounds of Chemotherapy and Radiation. Due to the location and size of the tumor. Theres only a 70% chance that the chemotherapy works. She will be getting a PETScan to see if she has the cancer in another part of her body. If so, the chemotherapy changes of working will go down to 50%-60%.

Sophia is the 3rd of 4 siblings. She loves make-up, playing with her friends at school and loves pink and everything glitter. She is a very energetic girl that loves to dance and make videos about her self playing with make up, making movies, or dancing. She is a very helpful daughter who loves learning recipes and loves to make mom and dad coffee in the weekend mornings.

Unable to work. I'm by her side 24/7, providing constant support and reassurance. Due to her situation Sophia won’t be able to attend school or her graduation this year.

I am reaching out to you for any assistance, donations and/or advice you can offer. No matter how big or small. This GoFundMe will be cover all living expenses for 14 months and will take a financially lift off our shoulders giving us the opportunity to spend more time with

her this year and with her siblings.

Ni siquiera sé por dónde empezar. Nunca pensé que tendría que abrir un GoFundMe en un millón de años. Es difícil expresar con palabras todo este sentimiento y esta situación.

En enero de 2024, Sophia se quejaba de dolor de muelas. la tomé

al dentista pero sus dientes estaban bien. El dentista recomendó ir a urgencias y avisarles que podría estar teniendo una infección y necesitar antibióticos. Después de que el hospital la examinó y le realizaron una tomografía computarizada, descubrieron que tenía un absceso en la cavidad nasal derecha. Pasó una semana en CHOP con antibióticos. Después de una semana y la hinchazón disminuyó, la enviaron a casa con antibióticos.

En abril de 2024, se quejaba de los mismos síntomas que antes en enero pero con pérdida de apetito, falta de energía, dolor de cabeza, dolor de ojos, resfriado. Decido llevarla nuevamente al hospital pensando que el absceso había regresado y que necesitaba antibióticos.

Lamentablemente ese no fue el caso y el médico me dijo que creen que puede ser un tumor.

Después de una semana de tomografías computarizadas, radiografías, análisis de sangre, resonancias magnéticas y biopsias. Las pruebas mostraron que tiene sarcoma de Ewing y no puede ser operado debido a su ubicación.

El sarcoma de Ewing es un tipo de cáncer que comienza como un crecimiento de células en los huesos y el tejido blando que los rodea.

Recibirá 14 rondas de quimioterapia y radiación. Por la localización y tamaño del tumor. Sólo hay un 70% de posibilidades de que la quimioterapia funcione. Le harán una PETScan para ver si tiene cáncer en otra parte de su cuerpo. Si es así, los cambios de funcionamiento de la quimioterapia se reducirán al 50% -60%.

Sofía es la tercera de 4 hermanos. Le encanta maquillarse, jugar con sus amigas en la escuela y le encanta el rosa y todo lo que brilla. Es una chica muy enérgica a la que le encanta bailar y hacer videos sobre ella misma jugando con maquillaje, haciendo películas o bailando. Es una hija muy útil a la que le encanta aprender recetas y le encanta preparar café para mamá y papá las mañanas del fin de semana.

Incapaz de trabajar. Estoy a su lado las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana, brindándole apoyo y tranquilidad constantes. Debido a su situación, Sophia no podrá asistir a la escuela ni a su graduación este año.
