Dear friends, family, and beyond -

It feels difficult to be asking for help but sometimes we don't have other options. Last year, my 76 year old father ended up in the hospital with what seemed like walking pneumonia. He had suffered through weeks of feeling awful and finally took himself to the ER. He did it just in the nick of time because he was going into sepsis.

My dad lived and is no longer in immediate medical danger but needs major dental surgery (very soon) which will cost more than this GoFundMe. The doctors hypothesize part of the reason he went into sepsis is because of a chronic infection in his teeth.

You would think that at 76 years old, this sort of thing would be covered by insurance. And the sad truth is it's not; not even a little bit. He has called his insurance companies to try a find a work around but has only been met with hard NOs. My dad needs this dental work done and has no idea how he will pay for it and neither do we, his children.

My dad still works at 76. He truly enjoys being of service to others and has so much life still to live. He doesn't know I started this because I think it would be hard for him to accept the help, but, we're at a loss. If you feel inspired, a few dollars goes a long way.
