My Story:
My name is Sophia, I live in Austin, Texas, and in May 2024 I will graduate from Austin High School. I’m super excited because I’ve been accepted into Mount Holyoke College (a private liberal arts women’s college) in South Hadley, Massachusetts with amazing scholarship that covers a large portion of the costs – but I need to come up with $4,200 to make it through my first year of college. This feels daunting even with working part time.
For the past four years, I’ve worked hard on keeping my grades high because I’ve had a long-term dream of getting into a good college where I can focus on my two main interests: engineering and political science. I don’t have a solid plan yet, but I do know that I want to make a difference in the world and in my community somehow.
Getting into college is a big step in realizing my future goals. It is also scary because I’ll be moving out of state and away from family. For a long time, all I have wanted is to make people proud. I am determined that, with your support, I can accomplish my goals.
I’d appreciate any support you can provide to help clear a pathway toward making this transition less overwhelming during my first year of college in a new state. I know that with your help, I will be able to step into this amazing opportunity with confidence.
Thank you so very much for your help!
My Goal: The total remaining amount for my first year of school (2024-2025) Tuition, Food, and Housing is $7,700. A loan of $3,500 will be utilized to cover a portion of this. This leaves $4,200 that I am requesting help with. I will continue working while attending school to cover costs for books, supplies, transportation, and all other living expenses.
Please share this with anybody who might be able to help.
