Help Sophia with Feral Cats in our neighborhood
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Bill, and I am fundraising for our neighborhood (Los Paseos @ Paseo Real Circle) to trap, neuter and return (TNR) the feral cat population in our community. Numerous (six) feral cats have grown in the last year. The photo shown on this GoFundMe page is one cat that will require a life-saving tail amputation. We had already brought "Jenny" to the vet, where they stated it would cost over $2,000. We negotiated the cost down and told them that we would assume all responsibilities after surgery; therefore, not requiring a hospital stay. Jenny is a lovable cat and would be a perfect in-house pet. However, five other feral cats are not sweet, i.e., very feral. Two traps were purchased and TNR two of the six cats last month. Two more cats were TNR today. We will pick them up this afternoon, February 5, and hold them for 24-hours before returning them to the community. So, we have at least two more to go...that we know of.
In January 2022, we had contacted the overwhelmed Sun City Cats, Humane Society and Animal Services. Still, they are not accepting feral cats due to the unavailability of a vet to perform spay/neuter surgeries. So, Sophia, her sister, and her parents have taken the initiative not to wait and get these cats fixed. Otherwise, the feral cat population will continue to grow. Today, their out-of-pocket expenses are close to $768 for the services performed on the four cats mentioned above, invoices are on hand.
I am requesting to reduce Sophia's parents' out-of-pocket expenses and obtain funds for the services required for the remaining feral cats. The result would be a wild cat community that will remain at the current number for 2022. Please help in any way you can. Thank you, El Paso!!! I will keep you all informed so please read the updates.
