Help Sophia Secure A Reliable Vehicle
Donation protected
My name is Sophia, and I'm a physically disabled trans woman who's very likely about to become houseless in May of 2025.
I will, legally, have access to a permanent address, but it's a plot of land 30 minutes out of town in the middle of Arkansas with nothing but a few tents and a shed. There is no running water and no electricity.
My only reliable means of transportation was a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis, and the engine seized early into 2024. Considering how much replacing an engine costs, and how many other things in this vehicle have been broken for years, it's functionally totaled. It'd cost too much to fix, and it's too worthless to scrap for parts.
Not having a vehicle when you're gonna live in the middle of nowhere with no reliable internet makes finding a job nigh-impossible. On top of this, I recently had my gallbladder removed due to a medical emergency. I haven't received the bill for that procedure as of me writing this, but seeing as I have no insurance, it'll likely be far, far, far more than I can afford without any income.
The $9,000 I'm requesting is, first and foremost, going towards the purchase of a vehicle. Hopefully, I could possibly find something reliable for less than that, but I need to be realistic. Any used vehicle is likely going to come with its own set of problems that need fixing, problems I won't be able to see until I've driven it for a few days, and any surplus will be primarily going to that.
Any further surplus will be used to cover my medical bills from the surgery, and credit card bills that I am over 6 months behind on. This is money for a reliable vehicle, but more importantly, it's money to help get my life back on track. The world isn't fair, and I just need a little help to survive in it.
