Hi, I’m Andrew Jordan, proud dad to Sophia Jordan, a 16-year-old track and field star from Gympie, Queensland, Australia. Sophia has been invited to represent Australia at two incredible international competitions in Canada in 2025—an opportunity that could shape her future and inspire our whole community. But we need your help to get her there!

A Dream Come True

Sophia will compete at:

Jack Brow Memorial Meet in Kelowna, British Columbia—a thrilling warm-up event.

BC Championships in Coquitlam, British Columbia—a top-tier competition against the world’s best (recently updated from the Trevor Craven Memorial Meet).

Travelling with Sports Travel Australia from 25th June to 13th July 2025, Sophia will race on an international stage, visit iconic spots like Whistler Mountain and Disneyland, and bond with fellow Aussie athletes. This isn’t just a trip—it’s a life-changing chance to grow, compete, and proudly carry Australia’s flag.

The Challenge Ahead

The base cost is $9,995, but with additional expenses like training gear, visas, and travel insurance, we’re aiming to raise $13,000.

This covers:

Return flights from Queensland to Vancouver, plus twin-share accommodation.

Entry fees for both world-class events.

Ground travel in modern, air-conditioned coaches.

Extra costs to ensure Sophia’s ready to shine—because every detail counts.

Why Sophia Deserves This

Sophia’s talent and grit have already taken her far:

Silver Medalist at the Queensland 1500m State Finals (PB: 4:44.80)—she overtook two runners in the final 30 metres!

4th in Australia at Nationals Track and Field (QSAC, Brisbane).

12th in Australia at the National Cross Country Championships—first Queensland girl in her age group, battling rain and 80 km/h winds.

She’s not just breaking records; she’s breaking barriers. Years of early mornings, relentless training, and pure determination have led to this moment. Now, she’s ready to take on the world—and show what a small-town Gympie girl can do.
