Hello everyone,
I’m Sophia Deja from Island Elite Jumping and I am a student at Comsewogue High School. I’m thrilled to share that I recently won the USATF National Championship in the Heptathlon (17-18) at Icahn Stadium! This incredible achievement has qualified me for the 2024 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in Bryan-College Station, Texas, which begins July 22.
This journey has been one of dedication and couldn't have done this without Coach O’Toole’s guidance, I've achieved personal bests in events like Javelin and the 200m, which were entirely new to me just weeks ago. Together, we've poured our hearts into preparation since my school track season ended, aiming not only to qualify but to compete for a Junior Olympic Championship and All-American status.
Now, I need your support. We are seeking funds to cover essential costs such as flights, hotel accommodations, meals, and transportation while in Texas. Our competition dates are July 22nd and 23rd, where I'll be challenging myself in events like the 100H, High Jump, Shot Put, Long Jump, Javelin, and more.
