Help Sophia get the physio she needs
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Amber I have started this page to help my daughter Sophia.
When Sophia was born we were so completely besotted by her and we thought everything would be smooth sailing. When she was around 9 months old we realized that she wasn't meeting her milestones like other children. She wasn't able to crawl or sit up unaided. We had took her to a few different appointment with the doctor, health visitor but no one seemed concerned that she was delayed in crawling/walking. In October 2022 she still showed no signs of walking we then took her to see a doctor in the primary care Centre and they done tests/ hip x-ray but everything was normal. We were getting very frustrated as we knew there was something not right with Sophia. She was almost two before she took her first steps, when she did try and walk she was very unstable and would fall constantly. After lots of dead ends we took her to A&E and we were told that it could be Cerebral Palsy. Sophia had to have a CT scan and also a Brian MRI. We met with the consultant and he confirmed Sophia has a scar on the left side of her brain which affect her nerves on the right side of her body which confirms she has Cerebral Palsy. We were absolutely devasted after waiting so long for a diagnosis we finally have an answer. Sophia now wears an AFO splint on her leg and special Billy shoes to help here walk. At the minute Sophia is seeing a HSE physio but these appointments are only once a month which isn't enough, Sophia needs intense physio on a weekly basis to help with her movement and hopefully one day she will be able to walk unaided without any falls.
We would really appreciate any donations big or small and share this link widely to help Sophia pay for these much needed physio appointments and any treatment she needs to help with her condition.
