Hello, my name is Deanne and I am raising funds to help support my younger cousin, Sophia (Pia), who is in need of a kidney transplant and currently receiving dialysis and platelet transfusions 3 times weekly to stay alive until she can find a kidney transplant. Pia was only 14 years old when she was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, which eventually caused her immune system to attack her own kidneys, leading to kidney failure secondary to lupus nephritis. This diagnosis took a huge financial toll on her father (my uncle), who has been surviving as a single dad since my aunt passed away from an aneurysm when Pia was 2 years old. Being a government worker in the Philippines, only making the equivalent of $250 USD monthly, my uncle needs help paying for Sophia's medical bills and treatments, so he asked me to help. Sophia was in her second year of college, working to earn her Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree, but had to take a break from college due to her health issues and medical bills. Sophia loves to dance, crochet, and make TikTok videos, and her goal in life is to finish college and build a career. Please help give my cousin a chance at being a normal 22-year-old.
