For Sophia from Daniel
Sophia is my 14-year-old sister, a freshman in high school, an avid reader, and a talented musician who loves playing the violin and keyboard. She is the kind of person who can spend hours with a good book or playing random sheet music at home.
Recently, Sophia started developing bruises on her legs and arms. At first, the family thought it might be anemia, but blood tests showed low hemoglobin, red blood cells, and platelets. After going to the hospital for more testing, Sophia was diagnosed with Pre- B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and admitted to Children’s Medical Center at Plano, where doctors have her currently hospitalized to undergo chemotherapy. The plan for her recovery is a 2.5-year treatment plan that includes her current hospital stay plus a weekly visit to receive chemotherapy and other medication so that her cancer will not return in the future.
This fundraiser is to help Sophia and her family with the medical bills and treatment costs during her hospital stay. As Daniel and his family focus on helping Sophia through this difficult time, the financial burden is growing, and there are still many unknowns ahead. Any donation, no matter the size, would mean so much and would help ease the stress on the family so Sophia can focus on getting better. Our current goal is to raise $500,000. If you are able to give, please consider supporting Sophia and keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
