Hi my name is Raquel Cedillo and I am setting up this go fund me for my sister Roxanne and my 12 year old niece Sophia Cedillo. Unexpectedly Sophia was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Sophia was rushed to Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach where Sophia underwent emergency surgery to place a drainage tube because she had bleeding/fluid in the brain. Two days later the neurosurgeon removed the tumor which was located between both lobes of the brain and was growing/attaching itself to the blood vessels. The surgery was successful, the surgeon was able to get everything out. But with all surgeries comes risks. Sophia now has right side weakness. Her face droops a little, and she has trouble moving her arm and leg. She also has trouble with her speech. In the last 4 days she has had some improvement with the help of her occupational, physical and speech therapists. Each team works with her 4-5 times a day.

We ask that if you can please make a donation, any little bit counts. As Roxanne is a single parent, this will give her an opportunity to stay with Sophia and help her on her long road to recovery. Sophia will need continued therapy to get her strength back, and to learn how to do everything all over again. She will also need continued follow up visits with the neurologist to make sure there is no long term neurological damage. This donation would help my sister be there with Sophia every step of the way.
