Hi everyone!

My name is Cassidy and my long time best friend, Sophee, and her partner Kyle are currently navigating a high-risk pregnancy upon learning that their baby has a very rare medical condition. As a result, they have been informed that they will need to travel regularly to California to see specialists since Reno does not have the equipment or expertise needed to address the level of care baby needs. On top of that, they will also need to relocate to the Bay Area 6 weeks before baby’s due date in order for Sophee and baby to be closely monitored and ensure the safest possible delivery.

As you all can imagine, this is not a cheap endeavor. Mounting medical bills, co pays, hospital visits, travel expenses, your typical baby preparations, and the need to arrange for long-term accommodations for themselves and their animals while they are in the Bay Area is understandably very stressful for Sophee and Kyle. There is still a lot of uncertainty of what baby’s condition could bring, but the financial load has begun to add up quickly and continues to be unpredictable. Any contribution to help ease some of this burden would be so greatly appreciated, and would be a huge help in easing some of the stress that these circumstances have brought. Nobody ever anticipates going through something like this. My hope is by creating this page, if it can relieve at least some of the stress off of Sophee and her family, it can allow them to focus on the most important thing- which is growing and nurturing a happy and healthy baby. <3

Several people have reached out asking how they can help during this time, and after a lot of thought, we’ve decided to accept support in this way.

Funds raised will go toward travel and lodging for ongoing medical care, medical bills and insurance gaps, animal care during our temporary relocation, and other unexpected expenses related to specialty care. We also need to keep providing love and care for our child who will be traveling with us. He is already the best big brother ever.
