Hey everyone! If you know me then you know I have struggled with the health of my eyes forever. Between puffy eyes from what I used to think we’re just allergies and not being able to see, it’s been rough. In fall of 2020, I was diagnosed with Keratoconus which is a condition where the clear tissue on the front of the eye (cornea) bulges outward. With keratoconus, the clear, dome-shaped tissue that covers the eye thins out and bulges outward into a cone shape. This has caused my vision to be immensely blurred. Basically, I have to undergo a correction procedure or my eyes will continue to worsen. The procedure will not correct my vision, instead it will stop it from getting worse. At this rate, there is a risk of me going blind if I continue to do nothing about it. My procedure is scheduled for May 5th, 2021 and costs $2000 per eye. My insurance is only covering $700 per eye. This leaves me with a balance of $2,600. My doctor does not want to postpone the procedure considering how drastically my eyes have deteriorated since the diagnosis. It’s at the point where it’s interfering with my daily life and ANY help is appreciated. Thank you all!
