Help Soo and Nari Avoid Eviction
Donation protected
Soo is a dedicated and loving mother to her 9 year old daughter Nari. Soo came to this country from Korea 18 years ago. She married a fellow Korean, who tragically died in a car crash when Nari was just a baby. Last year Soo was struck with a debilitating illness (Meniere’s disease) and has not been able to work since. Because she has been unable to pay her rent she now faces eviction from her apartment, and possible separation from her daughter. With no family in this country, Soo is struggling with this situation alone.
I have been Soo's neighbor for 8 years. She is a hard worker and had two jobs. She was valued by her employers, but she had to give up her jobs due to the impact of Meniere's. I am reaching out to the Go Fund Me community with a request to help Soo and Nari stay together and in their home. Your donations will be used to pay the back rent and secure her apartment while she is ill. Soo is looking for a job that she can do while managing her illness, and is full of hope and determination.
I admire Soo because she does not engage in self-pity but does whatever she can to keep moving forward. Her efforts are compromised by language and familiarity with our culture, but she perseveres. She is a kind and giving person and has helped other Korean immigrants in their times of need. Any amount that you can donate will help Soo and Nari stay together in their apartment, and will demonstrate that they are not alone in our community of caring people.
