Help Sonya Fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Mariah, and I am fundraising for my mama Sonya Olson. She has recently been diagnosed with Papillary Carcinoma Thyroid Cancer and is set to go through surgery on Monday September 25th, 2023, in Portland Oregon. She is set to undergo a complete thyroid adenectomy, lymph node removal, and a possible trachea resection. She has a planned hospital stay for up to a week after the surgery. When she returns home she will have a long recovery process, which includes undergoing radioactive iodine therapy as well as speech therapy.

Since finding out she was sick, she has had to go to so many doctor appointments which has been very hard on her financially. Although she has medical insurance, it does not fully cover most of the past and future costs of treatment. Her recovery process will be long, and I do not want her to stress about finances.

My mother is a very strong and humble woman. She is the rock of our family and is loved by many. There is so much that I could say about her, but to know her is to love her. Sonz is always willing to help when needed and is nothing but laughs. She is a wonderful mother and loving grandma. We know that she is tough, and she can take on whatever is handed to her. She just needs a little support and encouragement to fight one her toughest battles.
