My name is Sonny, and I am a nurse who has always tried to care for others. This past year has been the most difficult of my life. On October 15, 2024, I lost my mother to cardiac and respiratory arrest. Just 34 days later, my partner of 24 years also passed away from a heart attack. The grief was overwhelming, and I found myself lost, broken, and struggling with severe depression. Every day felt like a battle, and I often wondered how I could go on.
The pain and stress eventually took a toll on my own health. I developed broken heart syndrome, which led to a minor heart attack. I was rushed to the emergency room at Cox Hospital South, where I was diagnosed with severe depression and told I needed an emergency open heart procedure called a Triple Artery Bypass Graft, scheduled for January 21, 2025. Because of my surgery and ongoing depression, I have been unable to work. The hospital bills and credit card debt have piled up, and now collection companies are contacting me. I am doing my best to stay strong, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
I am reaching out for help so I can pay my medical bills, afford my antidepressant medication, and cover basic living expenses while I recover. Your support would mean the world to me and give me hope that I can get through this dark time. I am grateful for any help you can offer as I work towards healing and rebuilding my life.
