Help Sonny Get Life-Saving PU Surgery

Donation protected
**Update as of Monday morning**
Sonny and I are heading into the vet today to get his surgery done and be on the road to his healthy self again!!  A good friend recommended a vet who was happy to get it done today.  Dr. David at Animal Furist Medical Center will be performing the surgery on my sweet guy. Very thankful to them and beyond thankful to everyone who donated/shared this link, I cannot express my gratitude enough. Sonny should be healing for a good bit afterwards on some antibiotics and heavy painkillers but should be on his way to himself again!! Very excited and grateful to share this news.

Hi, my name is Kyrsin and I’m raising funds for my sweet boy’s, Sonny, PU surgery. He was hospitalized with a blockage in his bladder on the first of September and was fully cleared of it but as of today, September 5th, he is still struggling to fully empty his bladder on his own. (Cover photo is from today September 5th) Per the veterinarians advice he will need the PU surgery to get him back on track to having his good quality of life again. PU surgery (perineal Urethrostomy) is a surgical procedure performed on male cats to relieve urinary obstructions. He has only had this one obstruction and not a single other health issue. He is a very happy and healthy boy outside of this horrid situation. The surgery has been quoted to me as being between $4,000 and $6,000. His emergency hospitalization came at the exact same time of having to pay rent and was just under $3,000 ($2947 to be exact) and I have been unable to work while monitoring him so money is tight currently. I am actively working to get every penny I can to put towards this operation but desperately need help to save my boy. He is in immense amounts of pain from not being able to fully clear his bladder and the medications can only carry him so far for so long before the surgery must happen.

He has already been switched to a prescription diet (Royal Canin s/o wet canned food) and is going to be thoroughly taken of after the procedure. I will also be able to prepare properly for if any other issues arise. The sole issue as of now is the immediate funding of the surgery for the reasons aforementioned.

He just celebrated his first birthday in July and he’s one of the coolest and sweetest little guys I’ve ever met (everyone who meets him agrees). I’ve had him since August of last year when he was found in someone’s car engine on their way to work in TN! He was 1 pound 1 ounce when I took him home with me. He’s my number one companion and I love the absolute mess out of him. He loves going on hikes and drives and seeing the world, he’s road-tripped to 6 different states and even went swimming in the ocean in Panama City Beach as a tiny kitten! Anything helps to get my sweet, brave, adventure boy back on his feet and is greatly appreciated. Would love to have his forever for a while longer because it is simply not his time yet. There are too many unclimbed mountains and trees.
