Help Sonny Chase His Mountain Biking Dream

Since he was just four years old, Sonny has been obsessed with bikes. He saved up his own money to buy his first one (with a little dollar-matching help from us)! Over the years, his passion has only grown—he’s taught himself how to build bikes, build trails and jumps, and upgrade his gear through hard work, determination and clever trading.

Now at 15 years old, Sonny isn’t just a kid who loves riding—he’s a dedicated mountain biker with big dreams. He rides every chance he gets, often spending full days riding the trails at Belair National Park and Fox Creek. Last year, he had an incredible opportunity to ride in New Zealand with his Aunty Erin, and in just one week of riding world-class trails, his skill progression was phenomenal. That experience cemented his passion—he wants to race, compete, and win at the highest level.

Why We Need Your Help

Sonny is currently racing on a bike that has a crack in the rear of the frame, and we don’t know how many more races it will last. For him to keep progressing and competing, he needs a reliable race bike, proper gear, and support for race fees and travel.

For an idea on the level of equipment at the elite level - Sonnys dream bike—the Commencal Supreme Downhill Bike—costs $11,000. As a family, we simply can’t cover the full cost of everything he needs to take his racing to the next level.
