Hello friends and family,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom, Sonja Renée Walker, who recently went through one of the most difficult experiences of her life. After spending three days in the ICU, she is finally back home, but life has changed in ways we never expected.

My mom suffered bleeding on her brain, specifically on the frontal lobe, which has affected her motor skills. She is awake and talking—something we are beyond grateful for—but she is now dealing with memory issues, confusion, and difficulty walking. Doctors have diagnosed her with epilepsy and encephalopathy, which explain the seizures and episodes she had been experiencing before her falling accident.

While we’re thankful to have answers and a plan for treatment—including working with physical and occupational therapists—this road to recovery will be long and challenging. Unfortunately, due to these serious health issues, my mom is no longer able to work.

As you can imagine, the emotional toll is heavy, and the financial burden is growing. We are asking for support to help with medical expenses, therapy costs, transportation, home care, and basic living needs during this time. Any amount you can give would make a world of difference and help us focus on what matters most: helping my mom heal.
