HELP! SONIC GYPSY - Mickey and Sploote's 2nd album

Hello Everyone! ...OK here goes!!  hoping you can help .. we are nearly halfway through recording the epic second Sonic Gypsy double studio album... a massive double album of twenty two brand new original songs... and its coming together..!!... its BY FAR the very best music Sploote and me have ever done... feedback to the rough demos and mixes has been incredible..!

Me and Sploote have always wanted to make a massive authentic rock n roll album that stood up with the wonderful classic albums we love.. Exile On Main St, Physical Graffiti, LA Woman.... and over a year ago, we set out to write and record it... and after hundreds of hours of talking, writing, recording and travelling.. its REALLY coming together!!

We have waited as absolutely long as we can to ask you for help... and after much encouragement from friends and supporters,  I'm really hoping you won't mind me asking .. we've managed to do five amazing studio recording sessions for the epic second Sonic Gypsy album so far under our own steam and cash (and running on favours from friends who have driven us hundreds of miles, lent us amps, put us up, fed us, given us studio time, love and encouragement over the last 12 months)!

The studio sessions were amazing but until now wasn't prepared to risk asking for help until I had enough proper master takes in progress, to be able to genuinely guarantee that we could deliver something really special for everyone who helped us... delighted to be able to say..its sounding incredible.. the epic double album we always wanted to last.. !!

Some of you will already know, Sonic Gypsy (the band) is a crazy logistical nightmare as we are based all over.. the Grand Union Canal, Corfu, London, Manchester, Stoke etc .. so quite hard and quite expensive to get the whole band together in one place..!

So as our genius lead guitarist Sploote is London based, our friends Shereen and Tim at Viva Recorders studio in Islington are now onboard too...  so drums and bass are going down at Demon Studio in Manchester and Sploote and me are recording guitars using his, and Shireens unique collection of beautiful vintage amps and guitars in London.. its perfect... I've just got back from Sploote's first sessions there and it's just brilliant and perfect for us.. cant believe that we found it just when we needed it.. !

HELPING US WITH STUDIO TIME - every penny you give us will go straight to the studio!

So at last we've got everything in place now but inevitably desperately need raise more budget to help pay for studio time and keep recording. Now the first set of 10 master takes are properly underway in London, and with more in the pipeline..we are flying at last!

Here's some of the song titles to give you an idea..

(They Call Me) The Sonic Gypsy
I Like What You're Doin To Me
Everybody Needs A Friend
You Better Run
Love Don't Show No Mercy
Greeny And The Weatherman (If You Like It, Don't Fight It)
Lucifer Rising
Down On The Delta
Lay Down With An Angel
Roll Me Over (Gypsy's Blues)
Freak Of Nature
The Sun Is High (And So Am I)
Bill Hicks Is Dead (Dancing on The Lake Of Fire)
Leave This World Behind

There will be campaign in a while for the epic full double album itself, but to help us get there, we would like to send a TOTALLY EXCLUSIVE pre-album release SONIC GYPSY WHITE LABEL PROMO signed and individually numbered 3 track CD/EP of the first 3 finished tracks.. as soon as they are done... from the album to everyone who helps us out here with a tenner or more! Here's a breakdown of what your contribution will be used for: studio time and recording engineer amps and guitars in London for Sploote, train fares from wherever I'm working on the canals to Viva in London and Demon in Manchester for vocals, guitar and working on edits and arrangements with Mon and Sploote at both studios, and getting Sploote from London to Demon and back with his amps and axes to work up the live sonic parts for the songs ready for the second half of the album. We have ten songs already well on the way, with full guitars done by the end of February if we can raise around a grand..

So, while the whole worlds goin' completely crazy around us all.. what better thing to invest in than enabling Sploote to at last show the world what he can really do play on the best songs we have ever written, using lovely vintage Telecasters, Gibsons, Vintage Marshalls, AC30s, Fenders..

There will be organ, piano, strings, brass, pedal steel, theremin and additional vocals from some brilliant special guest musicians too.. Ill keep you updated by video and messages and posts as we go :-)

I've set the target at £1000, which will only give us one week of studio time, which should be just enough to get the bulk of the guitars for the first half of the album recorded, but... if we don't, any amount you can manage will help right now.. or if by a miracle everyone goes nuts for it ill try for another week :-)) xx

Thanks so much if you can help! Please share and spread the word to everyone who knows us, and everyone you think might like to get involved in the making of a totally unique and truly epic british rock n roll album for the people!

Long Live Rock N Roll..

Mickey n Sploote xx
