Help Sonia with her chemo expenses

We are raising funds to help our dear friend Sonia; she drives into NYC weekly for chemotherapy.

Sonia is a Warrior!  She was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. After having gone through treatment, her cancer went into remission. She must take expensive chemo pills for the rest of her life. 

In the fall of 2018, her prescription insurance carrier, decided to deny her specific medication; she was placed on a generic drug. She went a month in a half without taking her life-saving medication.  The oncologist and pharmacist battled to get the carrier to accept her appeal to have the brand-name medicine.  Fall 2018, her cancer returned.  This time it attacked her breast, liver, and lungs.  She is receiving chemotherapy weekly. 

Throughout her struggles, she has remained hopeful and always has a smile for anyone she encounters.  

Sonia has continued to work in her school cafeteria, serving children that have grown to love her.  She provides health insurance for her family; her husband had a kidney transplant and is disabled. 

The weekly trips into NYC have created a financial burden.
