Sonia and her three children, ages 18, 16, and 5, have been a vibrant part of the Soldotna, Alaska community since arriving in the United States. They are hardworking, positive, and loving individuals who have always called Soldotna their home, living the American dream and contributing to their community as great students and respectful, law-abiding citizens.
Recently, Sonia and her children were suddenly arrested by ICE immigration agents and deported to Mexico overnight, despite their attorney having filed the appropriate paperwork to allow them to remain in the U.S. while going through the legal process. They were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, facing an uncertain future far from the place they call home. Sonia and her children have no criminal records, and their only wish is to return to their community and continue building their lives in Alaska.
This GoFundMe is being set up to help cover urgent attorney and legal fees, as well as basic needs like clothing, food, shelter, and hygiene. An attorney from Nations Law Firm in Anchorage, AK is representing Sonia and her children, working tirelessly to bring them home. Please pray for their safety and timely return. Any support or resources you can provide are deeply appreciated. Thank you for standing with Sonia and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
As of now the legal fees have cost up $13,500, to relocate $4000. More than $2000 was to close or cover ongoing bills and expenses they have here in the US & Mexico. this just to give everyone transparent view of what has cost this sudden change of living. Just imagine to be uprooted from a peaceful life they were living. To being put in a life of violence, poverty, and struggling economic conditions. A single mother and 3 children. We appreciate all support & donation that are given. We are wholeheartedly grateful for everyone that are helping us. We have positive news about our immigration status. We cannot give details since it's a open and ongoing immigration court case. One day hope we can personally give thanks to everyone. God Bless...
