Yesterday she had a heartbreaking emergency — her young son was injured in a burn accident and had to be transported to Harborview Medical Center for intensive care. He is now beginning a difficult journey toward recovery, and Sonia is by his side every step of the way.

Even before this accident, she had taken time off work to care for her father, whose health has been in steady decline.
