My name is Sonay, I'm a Turkish citizen, living in Germany for 7 years.
I believe freedom of movement is everybody's right. I worked hard to be where I am now.
Moving to Germany was a long and hard journey, especially with a Turkish passport. I achieved my goals, but now again there is a problem, which is making it difficult for me to settle down safely:
If you don't know, in Turkey there is mandatory military service for every male who turned 18.
Since I was living, studying, and working here in Germany, I delayed it as long as I can, because military service can be such a traumatizing thing for people and also for a person like me.
Right now I'm in this situation that they are not extending it anymore due to my age and they are expecting me to go to the military, which is not an option for me for many reasons.
That means, if I basically refuse to do it, I could not go to Turkey anymore. So for some time I got lost in thoughts and I was considering cutting ties with Turkey but the problem is my parents are there, which are old, and not able to travel.
The fact that I can not go to the place I was born and see my parents and friends will put a lot of pressure on me mentally.
There is an option to pay them, in order not to do military service. In the end, I decided to pay, after checking other alternative options not to do it. But unfortunately, all the ways I've found to dodge it are stressful or illegal, unclear that they'll even work in the end.
So that's why I need to find 5200€ by the end of 2023 to pay them so they consider me I did the service and I am free from it so I can see my parents again. It's a huge amount for me and almost impossible to collect it without help.
(If I get over my goal with the donations, I will donate the rest to either someone who is in a similar situation or to an organization that fights for conscientious objectors.)

Hilf Sonay dabei keinen Zwangs-Militärdienst in der Türkei leisten zu müssen!
Situation:
Mein Name ist Sonay, ich komme aus der Türkei und wohne jetzt seit 7 Jahren in Deutschland. Ich glaube,
dass Bewegungsfreiheit ien Menschenrecht ist und ich habe sehr hart daran gearbeitet da zu sein, wo ich jetzt bin.
Nach Deutschland zu kommen war eine lange und harte Reise, insbesondere mit einem türkischen Pass. Dennoch habe ich es geschafft,
dennoch gibt es immer noch ein Problem, welches mir die Möglichekit nimmt, endlich richtig anzukommen:
Vielleicht ist das nicht all zu bekannt, aber in der Türkei ist es für jede männliche Person Pflicht, nach Vollendung des 18. Lebensjahrs den Militärdienst zu leisten.
Seit ich in Deutschland lebe, studiere und arbeite, versuche ich diesem Zwangseinzug irgendwie zu umgehen.
Momentan bin ich in der Situation, dass ich per Schreiben die Forderung erhalten habe, zurück in die Türkei gehen zu müssen, um dort eben diese besagte Militärpflicht abzulegen.
Das ist allerdingts keine Option für mich ist.
Widersetze ich mich dieser Forderung, könnte ich nicht mehr in die Türkei einreisen. Ich hab lange hin und her überlegt und auch mit dem Gedanken gespielt, die Bürde eines Einreiseverbots auf mich zu nehmen.
Das Problem dabei ist allerdings, dass meine Eltern alt sind und nicht mehr reisen können. Die Tatsache dass ich nicht mehr zu dem Ort reisen könnte, an dem ich geboren wurde und wo meine Eltern und Freunde leben,
welche ich von da an nicht mehr sehen könnte, macht mir enormen psychischen Druck und ich habe Angst, dass das längerfristige Konsequenzen für mich als Person haben könnte. Ich bin viele Optionen durchgegangen,
wie es doch noch Alternativen geben könnte, doch diese sind entweder sehr stressig oder illegal und am Ende wäre nicht einmal 100%ig sicher, ob es gelingt. Deswegen habe ich mich dafür entschieden die letzte, wenn
auch sehr unbefriedigende Möglichkeit in betracht zu ziehen, die geboten wird. Das ist, bis Ende 2023 einen Betrag von 5200€ an die Türkische Regierung zu zahlen. Dieser Gedanke löst in mir so großes unbehagen aus,
aber wie oben erläutert fürchte ich noch mehr die Konsequenzen aus allen anderen "Ausweichoptionen". Deswegen bitte ich auf diesem Weg um eure Hilfe mich dabei zu unterstützen!

Ich arbeite seit 7 Jahren in einem veganen Restaurant in Berlin. Ich habe viele tolle und sehr talentierte Kolleg:innen, die über meine Situation wissen.
