December 17, 2018 was a life changer for my daughter Somer. At approximately 7 weeks postpartum from having her first child she started her day off early by grocery shopping and before her shopping was over she was experiencing stroke symptoms and had to call 911 which ended with her in the ICU for the next 4 days.
After multiple CT's, MRI's, spinal taps, blood draws and many neuro tests, we found out that both of her carotid arteries are 100% blocked and she has suffered approximately 7 strokes. The doctors say as a 22 year old, she is a medical mystery and because of the fact that this type of situation is so rare, they have little to no answers as to why this is happening to her.
Since finding all this out, Somer has been dealing with extreme anxiety as well as constantly experiencing stroke symptoms such as numbness in her extremities, facial droop, slurred speech and confusion. This has sent her into the ER multiple times to receive more MRI's and neuro testing as she is at high risk of a massive stroke. Due to the fact that Somer has multiple doctors appointments and is waiting to be seen by the specialists at Harborview Stroke Clinic, she is unable to work and provide for herself as well as her newborn.
Your donation is extremely appreciated whether it be monetary or donation of a service to help with Somer's rising medical costs, daily living expenses, baby supplies, and gas to get to and from appointments.
From the bottom of my heart I thank you for any size donation you can manage. Our family truly appreciates you all.
