Help Someone Who Always Helps Others!

On Wednesday, Dec 9th, Jamie was so sick that she collapsed in her hallway at home. She was alone in the house at the time. She had to literally crawl and drag herself down the hall to her cell phone to call for help...It took her two hours to reach her phone.

She was transported to the hospital by an ambulance and was not aware of or able to discuss what happened to her until she had been hospitalized on IV fluids and antibiotics for two days.

Jamie arrived at the hospital too weak to walk or even stand up on her own. She was very dehydrated, running a high fever, and unaware of what was going on around her.

Jamie was diagnosed with Sepsis, which is a very serious life threatening, whole body infection. It started with a simple bladder infection that moved up into her kidney, and then into her bloodstream which got very serious very fast.  Jamie has previously had a kidney removed 16 years ago due to cancer. She is also dealing with an auto-immune disease that complicated everything.

After a week of being hospitalized, she was able to walk small distances by herself with a walker.  But she is still very weak.  Her kidney levels are improving. But her body has a lot of healing to do.  During this time she will not be able to work, which  involves standing on her feet all day.

Jamie has chosen a career of Hair Styling,  but those of us that know her know it’s much more than that. She calls herself a Hairapist.  How true that is! She counsels each and every person that sits in her chair. She remembers each person’s name, family, and history. She picks up on the conversation where they last left off. Often 4-8 weeks later. She is sincere and truly cares about all of her clients. They are more than clients to her.

This has been a very hard reality lesson for Jamie. She has always had a hard time accepting help from others. She is so used to taking care of everyone else, it’s hard for her to be on the receiving end.

But Jamie needs our help! During her stay at the hospital, she had one doctor that stayed on her case the entire time. Her doctors were all wonderful. She will have medical bills to pay She cannot currently work yet, and will be having at home care including physical therapy. Please help this wonderful, giving woman. Let’s give her one less thing to worry about by donating what we can to help.

I don’t know a kinder, more deserving recipient. Thank you Jamie, for being you.  We love you❤️
