Hello SolFood family,

 

I humbly come to you with my heart on my sleeve asking for help. As many of you know, I opened The SolFood Kitchen in the peak of the pandemic. Our original plans were to be open in December of 2019, however, the date continued getting pushed back and once the pandemic hit and the world stopped, so did the SolFood dream. With perseverance, we pushed through because we had to. There was already so much time and money invested that looking back wasn’t an option. The first few months were the most trying, and there were many days we weren’t sure how we were going to pay the bills, but we continued to have faith and continued to do what we do best, serve vibrant and delicious food made with love and intention, SolFood. Unfortunately, due to our opening date, we did not qualify for any of the economic relief programs provided for small businesses and restaurants. We tried over and over again to find grants & loans to help us navigate through the pandemic but were shut down every time. We have managed to make it thus far but after the recent surge in Omicron cases and having to shut the restaurant down, we are back to being fearful about the future of SolFood. Starting a GoFundMe is never anything I planned on, and have even been embarrassed to even think about asking for help. However, after lots of prayer and many sleepless nights, I have decided to ask my friends, family, and community for support. I understand times are tough right now for everybody, so only donate if you’re able. I truly appreciate all of our loyal customers and amazing employees for helping us get this far, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. In fact, for every donation of $100, we want to offer a $25 gift card to say thank you, however please know, that any amount is greatly appreciated and dining with us either in house or To-Go are also ways in which you can help us during this difficult time. The past year and a half has been a dream come true, and we want to keep that dream alive so we can continue to make our community a little more colorful and a lot more SolFul.
