Help Sohlan represent GB at Worlds & Euros

Hello, my name is Sohlan Aslan, and I am delighted to announce that I have been selected to represent Great Britain on the international stage in Malta at the Sub-Junior and Junior World Class Powerlifting Championship on September 7th. Additionally, I have also been chosen to represent Great Britain in the Czech Republic at the Sub-Junior and Junior European Classic Championship in October. Unfortunately, due to the lack of funding and sponsorships in the sport, athletes are required to cover all expenses themselves. The costs associated with competing abroad are substantial, so I am reaching out to ask for your support.

I began powerlifting in November 2023, and instantly fell in love with the sport, determined to do whatever it took to represent Great Britain on the international stage one day. By January 2024, I entered my first IPF competition to secure a qualifying total for the upcoming British National Championship in March, which I successfully achieved. Just five months into my powerlifting journey, I placed first at the British National Championship, earning an invitation to the International squad training session in May. Thanks to my performance at both nationals and the squad session, I received a formal invitation to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Sub-Junior and Junior World Class Powerlifting Championship, as well as the 2024 Sub-Junior and Junior European Classic Championship.

I am incredibly proud of all I’ve accomplished in my first year of powerlifting, and I can only envision even greater achievements in the near future. Any contribution, whether large or small, or simply sharing my story, will help make this possible.
