Help Sofia See the World – Surgery Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello,
We are the proud parents of Sofia, our beautiful little girl born with a rare genetic condition called BPES — Blepharophimosis Ptosis Epicanthus Inversus Syndrome.
This condition affects the development of her eyelids, preventing her from fully opening her eyes. Her vision is restricted, and without treatment, this could impact her long-term eyesight and overall development.
Despite these challenges, Sofia shines. She smiles with her whole face, explores by touch and sound, and brings joy to everyone who meets her. But we want her to be able to truly see the world she lights up — and that means surgery.
After speaking with specialists and researching options, we’ve made the decision to have her operated in Spain, where there are surgeons with experience specifically in BPES cases.
We want the absolute best for our girl — not just a standard procedure, but one tailored to her rare condition by experts who understand it.
We’re fundraising to cover:
• Consultations and medical care in Spain
• Travel and accommodation costs
• Surgery and post-op treatment
• Any additional medical or vision support she may need
Our goal is to raise enough to give Sofia the best chance at a future where she can see clearly and grow confidently.
Every donation — no matter the amount — brings us one step closer to that dream.
And if you’re unable to give, please consider sharing her story to help us reach others who might be able to help.
Thank you for being here, for reading, and for caring.
With all our hearts,
— Sofia’s Mum & Dad
