My dearest friends, Nina, Matt & their family, are going through one of the biggest challenges of their life. During a routine annual exam for their 3-year-old daughter, Sofia, her pediatrician noticed an enlarged spleen. They were referred to get an ultrasound to verify the findings, followed up by bloodwork. The ultrasound confirmed she had an enlarged spleen, and her bloodwork came back with alarming values. Within hours, Sofia was in the ER, to be checked into the hospital.
After more thorough bloodwork, a hematologist/oncologist confirmed a parent's worst nightmare: Sofia was diagnosed with B Cell ALL - Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Little Sofia received a port and started chemotherapy treatment on Monday, April 28.
Nina, Matt, and family will need all the support, prayers, and help they can get. Nina will have to take a considerable amount of time off from work to care for Sofia. They have a very long and difficult road ahead of them, so we're hoping we can all help them navigate through the next few months and ease some of the financial burden. Your support, prayers, and donations are greatly appreciated by the family.
“God, I pray for healing and comfort for anyone dealing with a heartache. I pray that they find refuge in You in the midst of their pain. May You continue to give them the strength to keep going, to push through these dark moments, and know You are with them every step of the way. In Jesus' precious Name we pray. Amen.”
