Help Sofia Heal and Seek Justice

My name is Christina Williams and I’ve created this go fund me due to a horrific event that almost costed my daughter her life.

The little girl pictured is my youngest daughter Sofia who recently turned 8 years old. On December 18th she went to North Memorial Hospital in Maple Grove MN to get her tonsils and adenoids removed. The bleeding from her throat ultimately started when she woke up from anesthesia so they let us stay for 30 minutes insisting she was fine and sent us home. Her Surgeon was Dr. Casey Fisher btw who clearly had a very busy day and quickly sent us on our way.

Sofia never completely was ok to go home in my opinion but I can’t make hospital staff keep us and I’m also not a doctor or nurse, but it was visually obvious to me as a parent. Within only a few hours at home I woke her up to give her Tylenol to keep pain managed, and she coughed up a blood clot and immediately started bleeding from her nose and throat, constantly coughing up and vomiting blood. I ran to call 911 and they showed up fairly quickly but had a hard time controlling her bleeding. My apartment was full of police and paramedics trying to save her life. Sofia fell unconscious several times from losing so much blood right on our bathroom floor in the hands of paramedics. I truly thought my daughter was dead in front of my eyes.

Thankfully the paramedics were able to get her stable, keep her alive and rush us to children’s hospital in Minneapolis. I’ll never forget that ambulance ride and my little girl only had enough strength to look up at me and say “Don’t be scared mommy”.

She was very close to needing a blood transfusion. I held her hand while they cut off her blood soaked clothes at the hospital and THANK GOD they stabilized her and stopped the bleeding.

We have been back in the ER since and this is going to be a long healing process for my strong little girl.

I will not be working as she needs constant attention and care. I also want to take this to court because I believe the surgeon should be held accountable for my daughter suffering. Any amount helps us during this time and will help me get this process started with court.
