Sofia is my 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, and she’s been my constant companion since she was just 7 weeks old. Over the past four years, especially after my husband passed away, Sofia has been my number one support and the reason I kept getting out of bed each day. She’s not just a pet—she’s my emotional support animal and my best friend, and we’ve been through so much together.




Recently, Sofia developed a mass on her chest that needs to be removed before it ruptures and causes a possible infection. The vet suspects it could be cancer, especially since she was never fixed, and it’s crucial to act quickly. Before she can have surgery, Sofia needs several pre-surgery tests, including x-rays, a scan, bloodwork, and a biopsy, to determine if she’s healthy enough for the procedure. I’m working with a reduced price vet clinic, but the high-end estimate for these tests is still a significant expense.
