Help Sofia Explore Marine Biology in Spain
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sofia and I’m a 10th-grade student at San Diego High. This summer, I have the goal of studying abroad in Spain in a Spanish immersion marine biology program. The program is 3 weeks long. In this STEM program, I will learn about marine biology directly from local experts, in Spanish, expanding my vocabulary. I will also have the opportunity to immerse myself in the Spanish culture and food (hello, paella!) with my host family and experience solo traveling. As the founder of my high school Sustainability Club, I’m not only interested in marine conservation but sustainability. I want to discover key species under threat from marine pollution and human activity—and how to make a difference.
The cost of the trip is $6,500, but I’m hoping to raise around $4,500 through GoFundMe, bake sales (I’m an excellent baker and taking orders), babysitting (do you know of any families in need of a babysitter?), dog walking, and tutoring.
I appreciate you taking the time to read about my interests and your support!
