While coming to the US as political refugees in 2024 Sofia and Igor Pavlov were put into a detention center along with all other post-USSR country citizens. They were separated right away and have been detained in prison conditions. They haven’t seen each other in 13 months. Even though they have a lawyer and a good reason to seek political asylum, their requests for release have been denied. They recently spent last of the money they saved up for the move on legal and communication fees (yes, they have to pay to call each other and people on the outside). So I’m organizing this fundraiser to help them cover the expenses until Sofia is released and they are reunited! Any little bit helps :)
