Help Sober Sisters Keep Their Safe Haven

Hi. My name is Cindi, and I am in recovery...2 years now, and no relapses!! I have found this organization, Oxford House, which has given me, and many others a safe and sober place to live. I share a house with 6 other women. Places like these are crucial for people like me. I have attached a video to give some more insight to what our mission is. Our house has been struggling. Each house supports itself, and unfortunately, we have 3 beds open in our house right now. When there is an empty bed, that is one person less to be able to contribute towards rent, utilities, and other household expenses. We have our rent due next week, and if we are not able to come up with the funds, we will have to leave. This is OUR home, and we consider ourselves family, sisters in recovery. The support that we have for each other is unmatched! Being able to talk about our struggles and recovery with others who have "been in the same boat", is what helps us get through every day...one day at a time. Many of us don't have another home to go to. Many of us have been homeless before. Many of us have disabilities, mental and physical, who need a full house of peers to help us through. I am asking PLEASE consider donating to our house, so we may make our rent and utilities to keep our home. We do utilize food banks, and several outreach programs to help, but, typically they are not able to help with large sums of money. We have women with children here, and the stability these houses offer are also so important and NEEDED for them, especially the children. If we are not able to come up with at least our rent next week...these women, and their children will have to leave. This means having to go to homeless shelters, or the streets, or, the woods to homeless camps. I am not being dramatic when I say this...that's where many of us come from. These are just facts. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help us reach our goal so that we may keep this wonderful, safe, sober haven.
