The SNITCH Renter Filing Fund
The Fund pools resources to execute code-complaint filings for Florida renters who lack the financial means to defend their living conditions.
When a tenant reports a legitimate hazard—mold, no heat, a dead smoke detector, or an ignored leak—SNITCH steps in and files the complaint under our own name as the complainant of record. Florida's SB 60 (2021) killed anonymous code complaints, meaning reporting your landlord now puts your name squarely on a public record. For a renter afraid of retaliation, that exposure alone is enough to keep them quiet. We remove that target from their back.
Every donation goes into a general operating pool dedicated entirely to executing these filings. While it takes roughly $150 in administrative overhead and processing to execute a single complaint, your contribution isn't a fee-for-service purchase. It funds the war chest that allows us to step in on behalf of tenants who can't afford the cost themselves.
Transparency note: SNITCH is an adversarial, for-profit watchdog business, not a 501(c)(3) charity. Contributions are not tax-deductible. They go straight toward holding landlords accountable.
