Hi there, my name is Emily and it would mean so much to Sneida and myself for some extra support in helping her attend university this year!
On my trip to Kenya in September I was fortunate enough to stay in the small town of Nyagwethe, on the banks of Lake Victoria. I stayed with Sneida and her big family in small mud huts filled with love and laughter.
I tried to keep up with Sneida as she completed the daily chores of fetching water, cleaning clothes and pots in the lake, cooking over a fire for the family, and all whilst looking after the beautiful little kids. It was so challenging and I gained so much admiration for this small, strong woman. On our walks through the forest to fetch water, Sneida would share her dreams of becoming a hairdresser and owning her own small salon in town. Having her own business in a town where the ladies are traditionally married off to men in exchange for cows.
She is already a very talented hairdresser and through gaining practice over the next two years at Eldoret Technical Training Institute she will be able to support her family and live her dream!
With a bit of extra financial help I would be so grateful to help her dream come to fruition! She’s amazing and we all deserve to dream!
If you would like to know more, I would be more than happy to share Sneida’s story and my memories with her !
Thankyou so much!
