Hi everyone,

My name is Zhanea, and I’m fundraising for my sweet 3-year-old cat, Smudge. He’s playful, loving, and the most intelligent cat I have ever had. He spends his days chasing toys, watching birds, and cuddling with his two cat brothers, Baby and Walter. He’s also my emotional support animal and keeps me going! Many of family and friends have met Smudge and know how silly and affectionate he is to all people and other animals.

A few weeks ago, Smudge suddenly became very sick and was diagnosed with a urinary blockage, a life-threatening emergency for male cats. He was hospitalized twice within one week and almost died, and it’s been a scary, exhausting few weeks trying to help him recover. Because cats can die within 12–24 hours from a blockage, I had to take almost two weeks off work to monitor him constantly, making sure he was urinating, eating, taking his medicine, and staying stable.

Smudge is finally home and healing, but the vet bills — from two hospitalizations, medications, follow-ups, and prescription food — have become overwhelming. Any help toward his recovery and medical costs would mean so much to me and his cat brothers.
