Update: I have reached my 350! I wanted to give a huge thank you for anyone who was generous enough to donate! I have his appointment starting the 18th to get his treatment started! If anyone else would still like to donate, I can use it to help more with the costs of the vet appointments and insulin. Thank you all so much for helping Smooshie!
Hello! This is my beloved cat, Smooshie.
A little background: I met him in 2013 while I was at work during an adoption event. As soon as I saw him, I knew I had to adopt him. He was found in a local feral cat colony, but he is far from feral. He is the most loving and social cat I have ever owned. It is unknown how old he was when they found him, but I know he is at least 13 years old. He lived with me in my house from 2013-2020, and then started living at the grooming salon I work at in 2021. He gets to live his dreams of meeting new people and getting all the cuddles from the clients. He was never meant to just share his love with just me. He is truly one of a kind.
I am asking for help with his recent diagnosis, diabetes. While I was on maternity leave, my husband lost his job, and we are still recovering from the financial stress and having a new little one. I am only asking for a fraction of the cost of what it will take for his testing, visits, and insulin because I already feel guilty enough for asking for donations. I need a little to help with the initial overnight hospital testings, and I will figure out the rest. I appreciate any donations that you are willing to help with. I am hoping he will become stable quickly so that he can come back to the salon to bring joy to those that walk into the salon.
Thank you so much to those who can help me, and if you personally know him from the salon, please give him an extra pet if he is there. His time is not up on this earth to bring happiness to others.
If for any reason the donations exceed my goal, I will use the extras for his insulin, follow ups, and special treats for him. I will try to make updates through this journey
